America’s National Parks in Danger: Take Action
What’s your favorite National Park? Ours is Grand Teton National Park near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It’s near CleanSnipe’s world headquarters, so it’s naturally where we play, all the time! How would you like it if your fave park was closed when you went to it? It could happen if you don’t take action and contact your senators or representatives.
Unless Congress succeeds in finding another path to deficit reduction, a damaging across-the-board funding cut in January will harm national parks. Roads and trails unmaintained. Fewer park rangers. Closed national parks. These are some of the consequences of Congress failing to protect national parks from dangerous cuts in January under the so-called sequester. Congress must find a solution that protects America’s best idea.
The National Park Service costs a small percentage of the federal budget and did not cause the deficit; even cutting the entire agency’s budget would do almost nothing to address our debt. Learn more in this clever infographic from the National Parks Conservation Alliance:
